RAINING
DATA CORPORATION ANNOUNCES
SENIOR MANAGEMENT PROMOTIONS
IRVINE,
Calif., February 5, 2001 - Raining Data Corporation (Nasdaq
Small Cap: RDTA), formerly known as Omnis Technology Corporation,
announced today a number of important senior management promotions.
The promotions, which take effect immediately, continue Raining
Data's integration of Omnis Technology and Pick Systems. Today's
announced promotions build on the promotion of Mario I. Barrenechea
to Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, announced on January
17 of this month.
Gwyneth
Gibbs has been named Vice President, European & African operations,
and will continue her focus on directing our engineering operations
for the Omnis rapid application development (RAD) tools, coordinating
administrative activities at our European and African offices,
and overseeing the European customer service function. Bill
Scott is being promoted to Raining Data's Vice President of
Marketing & Business Development. Working closely with Mario
Barrenechea, Scott will oversee development of strategic relationships
with existing and potential business partners, and manage general
corporate marketing, including trade shows, user groups, and
new business opportunities. Mark Aspinall has become Raining
Data's Vice President of Corporate Marketing. Tim Holland is
now Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Mike Fortuna has been elevated to the new position of Director
of Professional Services.
"I
am very pleased to announce today's senior management promotions,"
said Rich Lauer, President of Raining Data. Lauer continued,
"These promotions mark an important step in our continuing work
to integrate our company more fully. The entire team will be
focused on delivering products which expand our overall revenue
base, as well as cross-selling our flagship products, Omnis
Studio® and D3® to Raining Data's combined customer
base."
"Gwyneth
Gibbs' strong general management expertise will allow us to
continue to grow and strengthen our European and African operations,"
added Lauer. "In addition to developing strategic relationships
with existing and potential business partners, Bill Scott will
manage our general corporate marketing effort and continue to
contribute to our Omnis Studio® RAD tools development activities.
Our creative guru, Mark Aspinall, and his U.K. team will develop
our general corporate collateral marketing material, including
presentations, graphics and our Web site. Tim Holland, our chief
technology officer, will continue to manage our engineering
and customer service professionals. Tim will also ensure that
Raining Data's software continues to provide our customers with
the features and tools they need to succeed in the marketplace.
And I'm confident that Mike Fortuna is the right person to develop
a greatly expanded professional services division at Raining
Data."
