2.1

Bringing FlashCONNECT 2.0 functionality to Unix based Web servers

  • Linux and AIX based Web servers.
  • Versions of D3: D3 ProPlus 7.1, D3 SCO 7.1, D3 DG/Intel 7.1, D3 AIX 7.1, D3 DG/M88k 7.1, D3 NT 7.1.3, D3 HP 7.1, D Linux 7.1 or later.
  • Support for Web servers on the the following platforms is being developed: SCO OpenServer Release 5, Sun Solaris, and Windows NT

2.0

Adding new features and improved performance

  • Web servers running on Windows NT
  • Versions of D3: D3 ProPlus 7.1, D3 SCO 7.1, D3 DG/Intel 7.1, D3 AIX 7.1, D3 DG/M88k 7.1, D3 NT 7.1.3, D3 HP 7.1,  D Linux 7.1 or later.

1.2

Adding new features and improved performance

  • Web servers running on the following platforms: Linux, SCO OpenServer Release 5, AIX, BSDI, Sun Solaris, SGI, and DG/Intel.
  • Versions of D3 7.1 or later: D3 ProPlus, D3 SCO, D3 DG/Intel, D3 AIX, D3 DG/M88k, D Linux.

There is complete cross-platform compatibility between all platforms at the same FlashCONNECT release level. This means any combination of the above Web servers running FlashCONNECT 1.2 can work with any combination of the D3 platforms running FlashCONNECT 1.2. However, FlashCONNECT 1.2 will not work with FlashCONNECT 2.0. The upgrade from FlashCONNECT 1.2 to 2.0 is free.

Web Server Requirements

FlashCONNECT is designed to work with any Web server which supports the CGI or ISAPI (on NT Web servers only) interface. While there may be a few specialty Web servers which do not meet this criteria, we believe most, if not all current Web servers (Apache, IIS, Netscape, ...) will run FlashCONNECT.

Whenever the Web server is started, a FlashCONNECT program must also be started. This program must be able to create and access a named pipe in the /tmp directory. This is usually not a problem if you host your own site. If you are using an independent ISP, you may need permission to do so.

Licensing/Pricing

Please contact your TigerLogic reseller for pricing information.

There is a charge for activating FlashCONNECT. Each concurrent FlashCONNECT session consumes one user license.

This document describes in greater detail how to more efficiently use FlashCONNECT ports.

Activation

Permanent activations are obtained by:
  1. Purchasing FlashCONNECT
  2. Obtaining the new permanent activation code
  3. Apply the new activation code
