P A T C H E S

Pick maintains its product line by providing free patches for its users. These patches contain both fixes and enhancements to our products based on reports from the installed base. Some patches can only be loaded to specific base platforms.

Please see the release notes for any special requirements for each patch.

Notes About Viewing Files on This Site

Files are identified with file extensions .px0, .dd, .Z, .crypt, and possibly others.

These files are binary files. If you are downloading them with a web browser, you should tell the browser that these files are to be Saved, not displayed. If you are having any problems clicking on files that are to be downloaded, use the right-click, then choose "Save-As...". Be sure the file type (extension) is correct when it is saved to your system.

Documentation items are an exception to this general rule. Documentation items could have extensions of .html, .txt or .doc, which can be opened from your browser.

Example:

With Netscape Navigator 3.0, select Options off the menu bar, then General Preferences and Helpers. (Navigator 4.x use Edit / Preferences / Navigator / Applications.) Look for a File Type of "application/octet-stream". Make sure the Action is "Save". The extensions should show at least "exe,bin,DD,Z,px0,crypt".

Notes for Netscape Communicator and Microsoft Internet Explorer Users

We have found that clicking on a .px0 file, and others, will default to saving the file on your system with a .exe suffix. There are also reports that .exe files will default to .htm. This is due to either bugs or configuration issues with the browsers. Please be sure to save files to your hard drive with the correct file names.

.px0 extensions

Files with the .px0 extension are DOS files which are compressed images of Pick formatted floppy disks. The files/disks may contain ABS patches in the form of t-dumps, or they may contain binary images of monitor patches or release disks. To process these files, you will need the TELEGET.EXE program. Documentation for Teleget are available on our site along with the program.

Notes for Windows NT Users

Teleget will not work with Windows NT because, among other reasons, NT must write to a standard DOS/Windows boot sector, which is not the same format as a Pick formatted diskette.
